Because we are all sinners.
We must then conclude that in our natural state, God view us as lost sinners that are headed to some place of rewards…
So, as lost sinners, where will we go?
The Bible terms this death the “Second death”, or the “Lake of Fire”, which means when we sin now, we pay later, in Hell.
How can we go to heaven, when we physically die?
First, you must realize your state before God as a sinner; condemned to pay your debt to Him by going to Hell. And see that God, Who loves you in spite of your sins (while we were yet sinners), sent Jesus Christ to take the punishment for your Hell on Himself.
Jesus is not dead, but alive by the power of His resurrection, showing Himself that He was and is God.
God calls accepting Christ being saved. It is trusting what He said in His Word and then doing something about it.
What exactly do I do now? You must first realize you are lost. Realize that Christ died for Your sins. Ask Him to forgive you and save you. Would you please pray the following prayer and mean it, the best you know how? “Dear God, I know that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins and rose again. I ask You now to forgive my sins, come into my heart, and be my Lord and Saviour. I now trust and depend on Him for my salvation. Help me to live for You the rest of my life. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.” Did you mean it? We hope you did. Remember… “Whosoever shall call…shall be saved.” If you called and meant it, you got what God said you would get – forgiveness and salvation.
So, I’ve prayed, now what? Once you have been saved, it is important that you let others know. It is important to make your decision public because the scripture says, “Whoever shall confess Me before men, him will I confess before My Father in heaven. But, whoever will deny Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father in heaven.” Matthew 10:32-33. Then, we encourage you to follow the Lord in scriptural baptism and join a church family where you can serve with other brothers and sisters in Christ. Once you are saved, you are literally born into God’s family and become His child. At Pumpkinvine, we have a time at the close of our worship services called “the invitation.’ During the invitation the pastor will invite those who need to make a decision to come forward. This would be an appropriate time to make your decision public, to follow through with believer’s baptism and become a part of the church family. |
